Guillermo GARRIDO (Venezuela)
Guillermo Garrido is a Medical Doctor (Central University of Venezuela, 198O), Psychoanalyst member of Psychoanalytical Association of Venezuela, International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), and Latin American Federation of Psychoanalysis (FEPAL). He is a Founder Member and Co-General Secretary of World Council for Psychotherapy, Founder and former President of Venezuelan Association of Psychotherapy, Founder and former President of Latin American Federation of Psychotherapy. Guillermo Garrido holds the World Certificate of Psychotherapy from World Council for Psychotherapy (since 2007) and the Latin American Certificate of Psychotherapy from Latin American Federation. He is a Certified Psychotherapist in “DISASTER TRAUMA TRAINING” by World Council for Psychotherapy (2011); Visiting Professor of “Sigmund Freud University” of Vienna. International Summer School (2008); Supervisor in Psychotherapy of Catholic University “Santa Maria La Antigua of Panama”. Panama City, Panama; Director of Psychoanalytic Institute of Panama by International Psychoanalytical Association, I.P.A.
Education and degrees: Postgraduate degree in Psychiatry, Central University of Venezuela (1988); Psychoanalyst Degree, Venezuelan Institute of Psychoanalysis of the Venezuelan Association of Psychoanalysis, component of International Psychoanalytical Association and Psychoanalytical Federation of Latin-America (1997-2002). Professor of psychoanalysis, Catholic University “Santa María La Antigua”, Panamá (Doctorate in Clinical Psychology); Associate Professor of the Venezuelan Institute of Psychoanalysis, component of International Psychoanalytical Association & Latin-American Psychoanalysis Federation.
His work “Psychotherapy in Venezuela” has been published in the book “Globalized Psychotherapy” by Alfred Pritz in Vienna, 2002.
